Eaton EATO safety contactor

Safety contactors for motors and complete devices up to 170 A. The utilization categories include AC-1 for non-inductive or slightly inductive loads and resistance ovens, AC-3 for squirrel-cage motors during starting and stopping in operation, as well as AC-4 for squirrel-cage motors during starting, counter-current braking, reversing, and creeping. The connection technology features screw terminals. This contactor is also suitable for motors of efficiency class IE3, with IE3-capable devices marked on the packaging.

The auxiliary contact module is permanently connected to the base device, and manual operation is not possible. The rated operational current for AC-3 at 380 V and 400 V is Ie = 18 A. The rated operational current for AC-1 conventional thermal current is 3-pole at 50 - 60 Hz open at 40 °C: Ith = Ie = 40 A, encapsulated: Ith = 32 A. For 1-pole open, the rated operational current is Ith = 88 A, encapsulated: Ith = 80 A.

The maximum rated operational power for three-phase motors at 50 - 60 Hz AC-3 is 5 kW at 220 V and 230 V, 7.5 kW at 380 V and 400 V, and 11 kW at 660 V and 690 V. For AC-4, the maximum rated operational power is 2.5 kW at 220 V and 230 V, 4.5 kW at 380 V and 400 V, and 6.5 kW at 660 V and 690 V.

The contact configurations include 2 normally open (NO) contacts and 3 normally closed (NC) contacts. The switching elements comply with EN 50012 and feature a mirror contact. The current type is AC/DC with AC actuation.
