The Ducky One 3 mechanical gaming keyboard is designed to provide the best possible typing experience. It offers gamers and keyboard enthusiasts a luxurious typing feel thanks to its high-quality construction and short response times. The switches are not soldered but mounted on sockets, allowing for easy replacement without soldering. This variant features a compact format that completely eliminates the number pad, navigation and arrow keys, as well as function keys. As a result, it takes up minimal space on the desk and is particularly suitable for experienced users and passionate gamers who know exactly what they need.

With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its QUACK Mechanics design philosophy, which considers four central aspects that are crucial for the typing experience: the keycaps, the housing, the sound, and the stabilizers. Almost all variants of the Ducky One 3 feature high-quality PBT keycaps, a semi-crystalline plastic that is popular among keyboard modders due to its abrasion resistance. The keycaps are molded from two layers of plastic, ensuring that the key labeling remains clearly legible. Unlike other plastics, these keycaps do not develop the usual shine with intensive use, keeping the keyboard looking new for a long time.

A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their bulkiness. The newly developed housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and, along with the three-stage feet, alleviates wrist strain. To improve the sound and typing feel, Ducky tested 17 different rubber connections and selected the most suitable variant for the Q-Bounce Pad. This is combined with an additional layer of EVA foam to effectively dampen resonances during typing and hard keystrokes.
