They have been hand-selected in Germany for this purpose using a special measurement process. All double triodes are selected for low microphony and can therefore be used without any issues as input tubes (V1) and naturally also for subsequent stages. This S4GB® tube type offers the best performance for high-gain stages, but it also slightly increases the gain when the amp appears a bit "tired.".
