The Sabertooth 2x32A dual motor controller board is a versatile and efficient driver module for wheeled or tracked robots up to 80kg. The motor controller board is designed for a constant power consumption of 32A, with peak values up to 64A per motor.
The Sabertooth 2x32A dual motor controller board features overcurrent and overtemperature protection, which automatically puts the module into safety mode if the current is too high. The transistors are clocked at 32kHz, enabling particularly smooth and quiet operation. It is also possible to supplement the Sabertooth controller with a Kangaroo X2 motion controller, which allows for higher positioning accuracy of the motors and constant speeds. The Kangaroo X2 can be easily plugged onto the Sabertooth controller, to which either square encoders or potentiometers can be connected.
Due to its microcontroller-based control, the Sabertooth Dual 32A regenerative motor controller board can be controlled either with PWM signals or via a serial/TTL interface. Both signal types/interfaces are compatible with all common single-board computers as well as Atmel and ST microcontrollers. The selection of the signal type and the setting of the address and baud rate are carried out using a switch. Complete configuration documentation can be found in the data sheet.
