The infrared light barrier has a detection range of up to 1.5 meters and a fast response time of less than 1 millisecond. It consists of a transmitter and a receiver and is suitable for temperatures ranging from -20°C to 65°C. The light barrier is used in various industries, including machine automation and the automotive industry, and is also suitable for speed detection and timing in intelligent robot competitions. Due to its independence from weather influences, it is particularly accurate in measurement.
Note: To use the sensor with an Arduino, the signal voltage must be reduced to 5V. This can be achieved with a simple voltage divider or an optocoupler.
