A manor in Mecklenburg, a palace on the Bosporus... Women were his passion. In the midst of two different cultures, the young Feridun grows up. As the son of the Dardanelles hero Cevat Pasha, he is drilled in the cadet corps in Berlin and is a guest on the estates of noble families in Prussia. As a diplomat, protected by Atatürk, a womanizer, and a charming exotic, he experiences the tumultuous world history between 1920 and 1960. His son Hasan, like his father, is not truly at home in either Turkey or Germany, tells this tumultuous family story and connects a hundred years to the year 2013, when he makes an unexpected and touching acquaintance with a young protester at Gezi Park...
