Die Sternentaucherin is a poetic-autobiographical novel about the amazing life journey of a girl who becomes almost completely paralysed at the age of 15, has to be ventilated for 24 hours, receives the last anointing and still survives. And not only that: she learns to breathe on her own again, discovers her strengths, earns a doctorate in German studies, works as an editor at Bayerischer Rundfunk, despite her physical handicap, despite her wheelchair - but she doesn't sit in a wheelchair, she sits enthroned, like a queen. The journey of the star diver is a journey to her own self-worth and humanity. It begins with abysmal despair and hardship and leads to the discovery of a great inner strength.
