Blackguards 2 is a strategy role-playing game that focuses on turn-based tactical combat and allows a band of criminals to take the field as supposed heroes. Some of the most well-known Blackguards from the first game return, but their lives have taken a turn for the worse. Dwarf Naurim has become fat and lazy, wizard Zurbaran has fallen back into slavery, and forest dweller Takate now hosts gladiatorial fights in his homeland. Despite everything, the fame of the conquerors of the hordes - at least the three remaining ones, Naurim, Zurbaran, and Takate, as all others are gone - seems immortal. They are sought after by Cassia, who plays the main role in Blackguards 2. Cassia has only one goal: she desperately wants to rule from the Shark Throne in Havena, no matter the cost - even if it's just for one day. In the Blackguards, she sees the fighters and strength she needs for her plan.

    Rüdiger Steidle: Das erste Blackguards konnte seinerzeit nicht alles einlösen, was ich mir von dem innovativen Rollenspielmix versprochen hatte. Das lag insbesondere am beträchtlichen Zufallsfaktor, der mir zumindest anfangs etwas den Spaß an den spannenden Runden-Scharmützeln verdorben hat...

    Blackguards 2 ist ein deutlich runderes und ambitionierteres Spiel als es der Vorgänger war. Der Schlachtablauf auf der großen Karte, bis endlich Mengbilla fällt, stellt einen besseren Rahmen, in dem eine interessante Hauptfigur von euch ausgestaltet werden kann. Es macht für das Spiel nicht den ganz großen Unterschied, ob ihr als mordender Racheengel oder strahlende Befreierin dort ankommt, aber es...

      Gar nicht schlecht, Daedalic. So kurz nach dem Vorgänger hätte ich nicht erwartet, dass Blackguards 2 viel am Spielprinzip verändern würde. Das neue Konzept mit Söldnerarmee und Heerlager passt aber wesentlich besser zu den ordentlichen Rundengefechten, als das durchwachsene Rollenspiel zuvor...
