The switches comply with the IEEE 802.3az standard for energy-efficient Ethernet (EEE) and reduce their power consumption during low port utilization. EEE devices lead to lower operating costs and require less cooling effort, which can represent significant savings for small and medium-sized enterprises. The DGS-1100 Series incorporates D-Link Green technology, which automatically reduces energy consumption. The switches automatically detect the length of the connected cables and adjust power consumption for cable lengths under 20 meters. Additionally, the switches monitor the connection status of each port and significantly reduce power consumption when a port is inactive.
