All in all, the performance of the compact lens is acceptable, because measured against the price, which is very fair, the Canon can be used quite well with the lens open. Although there are image errors in the corners, stopping down leads to good results with equally good edges. Only the distortion can cause problems in certain situations.

Product details
With a length of only about 22.8 mm and a weight of just around 125 g, the L261 is extremely compact, making it ideal for those who want to have their EOS always at hand. Its particularly compact design also makes it very discreet - perfect for street photography.
The 24mm lens provides the same field of view on an EOS with an APS-C sensor as a 38mm lens on a full-frame DSLR. This is nearly the angle of view that the human eye sees, making your images appear very natural.
The especially quiet STM autofocus focuses very quickly for still photography and offers continuous focusing for video recordings without the noise of the focus drive disturbing the shots.
A high aperture of 1:2.8 allows plenty of light to reach the sensor, enabling shooting in low-light situations without a flash. It is also ideal for creating attractive background blur, where a subject stands out beautifully against a blurred background.
The lens enables razor-sharp images from the center to the edges and is particularly well-equipped against lens flare and color fringing. The minimum focusing distance of only about 16 cm allows for a particularly close look at the world of small subjects.
