Fluorite and UD lenses are used in the lens to minimize aberrations and distortions. The high initial speed of 1:4 is ideal, and the Canon Extender EF 2.0x III can also be used with EOS Series 1 cameras with virtually no loss of focus. Fast, precise, quiet focusing. The ring-type USM (ultrasonic motor) provides incredibly fast and quiet automatic focusing. A fast CPU and optimized AF algorithms also contribute to the high AF speed.
