Product details
The five musicians have been exploring the rich song tradition of Ireland for years, without forgetting their own roots. Their longing for the distant and unfamiliar includes a love for the near and familiar. Sometimes soft and restrained, sometimes loud and passionate, their original compositions tell stories of life, melancholy and joy, sorrow and happiness. After Morgain set poems by long-deceased poets to music in the last two programs, the group is now working with a contemporary: Morgain composes music to poems by Donny O'Rourke, who writes lyrics inspired by Morgain's melodies. Both revise and refine until a whole is created. Titles: Intro, There'll be a ceilidh tonight, The wide blue Atlantic, Sand on snow, Café Europa, A word at parting, Manitoba, The immediate measure, Spell, Paul Klee's angels, Crossing to Kintyre, Aubade.
