Blood accusation

Bern in the year 1294: Six years after the devastating defeat at Schloss Halde against the Habsburgs, the city is in the grip of a severe economic crisis. Compensation payments and exorbitant fines plunge the Bernese into a catastrophe that continues to affect them even years after the battle, leaving the citizens in despair. In the midst of this agony, a brutal murder of a boy named Rudolf shocks the population. Shortly after the act, a scapegoat is identified: the Jewish community of the city, accused of having committed a ritual murder of Rudolf. The phenomenon of exclusion has occupied our societies throughout the centuries and remains as relevant today as ever.
