Product details
The Audix D6 is a professional dynamic high-end instrument microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern. The patented capsule with VLM membrane type E provides a wide, accurate, and highly dynamic sound reproduction of the recorded instrument. With an extended frequency range from 30 Hz to 15 kHz and a maximum SPL of 144 dB, the D6 is particularly suitable for low-frequency and highly percussive instruments such as the kick drum.
The high-quality metal die-cast housing made of zinc alloy is equipped with a sturdy steel grille that effectively protects the capsule behind it. This high mechanical standard ensures a low failure rate and a very long lifespan.
The transformerless design, relatively low input impedance, and balanced output allow for interference-free performance, even when long cables are used.
Note: If a removable kick drum has a sound hole, it is important to ensure that the Audix D6 is always positioned inside the bass drum. This is because there can be uncontrollable sound movements at the sound hole, making perfect pickup nearly impossible and potentially damaging the microphone.
Applications:
- Live stage and recording
- Kick drum
- Floor tom
- Bass cabinets
- Leslie cabinet (lower part).
