As by far the cheapest monitor tested, the Asus VC279H has to make clear concessions in the area of ergonomics. However, if the Full HD resolution is enough for you, you will get an IPS monitor with very good display properties.
The hotkey provides gamers with access to crosshair and timer functions. Depending on individual gaming requirements, the hotkey allows for the selection of four different crosshair overlays, and the on-screen timer keeps spawn and build times always in view. The ASUS VC279 is equipped with an IPS screen with LED backlighting. The high viewing angle of 178° reduces color shifts during both horizontal and vertical viewing, thus providing a true-to-life representation from almost any angle.
Thanks to ASCR (ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio) technology and a brightness of 250 cd/m², the display's backlighting is dynamically adjusted to the respective lighting conditions, increasing the contrast ratio to up to 80,000,000:1. With an extremely good black level and excellent white representation, the image appears optimal and lifelike. The VividPixel technology enhances the contours, sharpness, and color saturation of images and videos for a high-quality viewing experience.
The exclusive ASUS QuickFit feature increases efficiency by allowing documents and photos to be displayed in their original size on the screen using a grid before printing. The grid can be activated via a hotkey and shows the physically correct size of a document in centimeters or inches without the need for rescaling. Thanks to the QuickFit feature, proof prints of the document are no longer necessary.

The new VC279H from ASUS is in the low-price consumer segment. Starting at about 230 euros, you get a TFT monitor with a 27-inch screen diagonal, IPS panel and Full HD resolution. For cost reasons, ergonomic functions have been omitted; the display can only be tilted. On the plus side, there is no doubt that the price is low and the IPS panel is very good...
