The WSERD airflow monitor is designed for monitoring fans, control dampers, humidifiers, and electric heating registers according to DIN 57100, Part 420, and is suitable for use with DDC systems. The airflow monitor operates on the calorimetric principle, measuring the heat removal by the airflow and converting it into a switching value. The sensor includes a heating element and two temperature sensors. A microcontroller controls the heating and measures the temperature differences. Based on the stored calibration curves, it calculates the airflow velocity and transmits the value serially to the control unit. Here, another microcontroller determines the switching behavior of the two relays based on the preset values of the setpoint controllers. Installation is done with suitable screws (not included) on a flat surface and is independent of orientation.
