Product details
The P420 is an excellent studio microphone for recording vocals and instruments. It delivers a natural, warm, and detailed sound. String instruments and singers with thin voices particularly benefit from the warm tone of the P420, resulting in fuller recordings.
A unique feature of the P420 is the ability to adjust different polar patterns. This makes the microphone versatile: cardioid for vocals and instrument recording, omnidirectional for room miking, and figure-eight for simultaneous recording of two singers.
Very loud instruments such as brass, drums, and percussion can also be recorded with the P420. The microphone has a switchable pad and can handle very loud sound sources up to 155 dB. A switchable low-cut filter effectively suppresses mechanical vibrations like footfall noise.
With its metal housing, the P420 is particularly robust and can also be used live as a stage microphone.
