The AKG P170 condenser microphone is the ideal small diaphragm model for miking drums and acoustic instruments. It delivers a clean, unadulterated sound. By slightly boosting high frequencies, instruments sound more brilliant. Their sound becomes more detailed and asserts itself better in the mix. Normally, condenser microphones have difficulty transmitting loud instruments without distortion. The AKG P170, however, can handle sound pressure levels up to 155 dB.
