If I use this monitor with a macbook pro, is it possible to connect an Apple keyboard + trackpad? If yes, is the connection automatic and smooth? (not having to go in settings and connecting the keyboard and trackpad every time) Thanks in advance

Hi

You don't need an external monitor to connect Apple keyboard or trackpad. They connect directly to your MacBook via Bluetooth.
