Google Nest WiFi router and access point
I bought Google Nest to finally put my WiFi problems at home to rest. It worked nice until one day during my vacation (just mentioning this as it means I did not change anything, as nobody was at home). I restarted, reset and restarted. Nothing worked for longer than a few hours.
The ISP had not clue what to do (everything worked up to the modem). So I reached out to Google support who kept me busy for several hours (chat + phone) for restarting, resetting many, many times. Still, the problem could not be solved.
The lady from support said she will now escalate the problem and I will hear from them in 24h or 48h. After three days I had enough and just replaced it with uglier solution that however actually works. And then I retunred the product in to Digitec
After two more days Google customer support came back with the groundbreaking idea to reset to factory settings, again. Which of course I had no interest in, nor could I (I returned the device)
After addtional 3 weeks later I have my repaired Google Nest back. Which obviously I will not install/need any more as clearly having no WiFI vor several weeks is not an option for a family of five (with two people working partially from home, and two teenagers).
Bottom line: I strongly recommend to stay away from this product, unless you have a back-up solution for your WiFi in place and you are so bored that you enjoy talking to the friendly (albeit completely useless) customer service from Google Nest for hours.
