blue LED design flaw and customer service

There was a time when the Swiss Logitech built very reliable products, and in the unlikely event they had even a minor issue, they replaced them for free even outside the warranty period.
That time is sadly long gone.

This
keyboard is not really worth the money.
The keyboard requires 2 USB ports but only provides 1 USB passthrough, unlike my mechanical DasKeyboard, which only requires 1 USB port and provides 2 USB passthrough.
Some letters would occasionally stop working, requiring me to unplug/replug the keyboard.
The blue LEDs keep failing one by one... 4 keys now cannot display any blue anymore.
Logitech customer service refused to acknowledge this design flaw despite it being widely reported on the Internet.

Another lame con on the G815 is that it has proprietary keycaps... you can't just replace them like for any real mechanical keyboard.

The keyboard is somewhere in the middle between a cheap keyboard and a mechanical keyboard in terms of feeling.
If you like mechanical keyboards, you will certainly be disappointed.
If you are used to laptop keyboards, you might be happy enough with this.

Basically, the only thing cool about it is the RGB lighting, but it no longer works well due to the blue LEDs failing, so I'll switch back to my trusty DasKeyboard.

Pro

  • beautiful rainbow pattern (when it works)
  • nice design

Contra

  • failing blue LEDs (design flaw)
  • not as good as a real mechanical keyboard
  • only 1 USB port
  • customer service not what it used to be
  • requires 2 USB ports
  • no RGB lighting of any kind for symbols/alternates
  • you can't replace keycaps

    https://keycaps-vibe.com/products...
"Verleihen Sie Ihrer mechanischen Tastatur einen neuen Look mit unseren Logitech g815 Keycaps! Ein Set, das Sie mit Ihren alten Tasten verschmelzen können".
Was das mit dem Blauen LED auf sich hat das kann gut sein es gibt immer wieder mal Produktionsfehler, was sicherlich ärgerlich ist vor allem wenn es ausserhalb der Garantie passiert.

I am not doing anything wrong. It was technically wrong to say the keycaps can't be replaced, but they are not standard. Real mechanical keyboards have standard key caps that are much easier to replace and you can find many creative ones for geeks.
The blue LEDs is a manufacturing defect that is fairly common and logitech refuses to acknowledge it.
The brand went downhill fast. Even the USB chip they use is cheap. Why the hell do u need 2 cables for this keyboard? On my DasKeyboard, I only need one cable and it provides two USB 3 ports.
Logitech now keeps increasing prices, massively lowering their products' quality and longevity, and their customer service is much poorer than it used to be.

    Do you work for logitech?
