    Great but (too) expensive

I bought this monitor on 26.2.2017 for 1399. The price fluctuates a bit every now and then.
The price is also my main criticism of this monitor, as it is already very high and made me think long and hard about whether I
    wanted to buy it.
I don't really know how this price came about. Sure, it's currently the only 38" 21:9 monitor available with 3840x1600 pixels, it's curved, has IPS, 75Hz and 99% sRGB colour coverage. A 43" 3840x2160 pixel, IPS, 60 Hz monitor from Philips ([Philips BDM4350UC (43", 3840x2160)](https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/philips-bdm4350uc-43-3840x2160-monitor-5816498?tagIds=77-624)) costs 750.- today !!!! So almost half although even bigger surface and more pixels. This one is not curved and has less Hz and maybe not as many colours, but hello, it costs only half as much! Or the Dell with similar features to the Philips (Dell P4317Q) costs 913.
Apart from the price, it does what I expected. Very good colour reproduction, size is top (ok, could be 200 pixels higher, that would be perfect, 2160 as with 4k 16:9 would be too much for me), is well suited to play World Of Warcraft (fast enough). The scope of delivery also fits (all cables included, even if most of them are a bit short - a CH power cable is provided by Digitec! -
Only the often praised, included split-screen software disappointed me. It works well for normal Windows windows, but if you want to maximise a YouTube film to the full size of one part of the screen, for example, the entire monitor is used, not just one split part. The same applies to games in full-screen mode. It seems as if several monitors are not simulated. Also, the split areas cannot be configured individually.

By the way, my nVidia GTX760 mti 2GB RAM from 2014 is quite sufficient for WOW at 3840x1600 with quite high graphics settings = ~30-50 fps.

    Pro

    • Size almost perfect (could be 200 pixels higher)
    • Colour fidelity, brightness and contrast
    • Well suited for "normal" games such as World of Warcraft
    • Ergonomics (adjustable height, tilt and swivel)
    • Design

    Contra

    • Monitor button (it has only one, bottom centre) is not optimally solved; monitor OFF also there
    • Supplied split screen software not optimal
    • Huge external power supply unit

    The purchase was worth it!

I can only recommend to anyone who has enough money left over to invest in a great monitor. I am exaggerated that 21 - 9 will be the future of media (films, series, etc.) and monitors! The monitor is very easy to use. I also love the interaction between PC and monitor. If you are used to two monitors, it will take time to concentrate on one again. The LG Screen Split 2.0 software is a must! It makes it super easy to split the programmes. My conclusion: The monitor is great for those who need a high resolution (graphic designers, web designers, etc.). I can also recommend the monitor for casual gamers. All in all, a great buy!
