
We test the fitness suitability of "Ring Fit Adventure"

Gaming isn't just about lying on the sofa and eating crisps. With "Ring Fit Adventure" for the Nintendo Switch, you can really work up a sweat. Simon and I put on the right outfit and try out the new sports gadget.
You really can't accuse Nintendo of a lack of creativity. The innovative 2-in-1 console now has its own sports controller. The Ring-Con and the accompanying leg strap are the Wii fitness board of this console generation. "Ring Fit Adventure" is the first game available for it. It comes with the sports accessory and offers around 60 fitness exercises and an adventure mode.

In order for "Ring Fit Adventure" to track your movements, you put one Joy-Con controller in the leg strap and the other in the Ring-Con - this strange plastic ring. This also serves as a controller. It is elasticated. By pressing it together, you confirm inputs. If you pull it apart, you take a step backwards. Turn and tilt to navigate the game menu. In the game itself, your character marches around with the same ring in their hand. When you press the ring, you create a blast of air. When you pull, you suck in coins etc. You can move forwards by jogging in place. In adventure mode, you run through various levels, jump from platform to platform and fight monsters.

There are also classic fitness exercises that always work in combination with a ring and leg strap. Even if the concept seems absurd at first glance, you'll work up a sweat pretty quickly. You can see just how hard in our Let's Play, for which we put on a matching 80s aerobics outfit.
