The viral mask-proof lipstick

Nyx Professional Make-up’s «Shine Loud High Shine Lip Colors» are being celebrated on social media. Are the mask-compatible lipsticks really as good as TikTok, Instagram and Co. want us to believe?

The supposed miracle lipstick by Nyx promises...

  • 16 hours of colour-intensive, kiss-proof lips. This means no fading, no smudging and that it’s even wearable under masks.
  • A vegan, nourishing formula, enriched with various oils for a pleasant feeling on the lips.
  • A high-gloss finish due to the non-sticky gloss.

I put the product to the test.

Application

Now, you have to wait for the coat to dry. As it dries, I make sure my lips don’t touch. Otherwise they’ll stick together and the product will turn flaky. Fortunately, the lipstick dries relatively quickly thanks to the thin texture. After just under 30 seconds, I can move on to step two: sealing the base.

Stays put for as long as you want

The lipstick survives drinks and the hand kisses that I give myself completely unscathed – as long as I’ve applied the protective gloss to the outermost edge and corner, as well as along the entire inner edge of the lips. The lipstick stays on without gloss as well, but then it can leave minimal residue on the hand or in the mask.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
