Every month we give away a Lego novelty. This time Alexander aka alexanicuf has won the Hulks from Lego Marvel. This is his test report.

A Hulk rarely comes alone

This could be an alternative title for the new Lego Marvel set. However, Hulk vs Red Hulk is the original title for the new set that I was allowed to test.

As a father of two gorgeous boys (aged 6 and 3), it's sometimes not so easy to find suitable toys that the children will still enjoy a week later. So, as a responsible father (and Lego fan), I always take a look at the latest Lego products at Galaxus. That's how I became aware of the Marvel theme. Two Hulks, two cars, an appealing look... Good thing, so my two boys can't argue.

The questions you ask yourself as a buyer, whether as a parent, godparent or user, are often like this: Is the package worth the money? Does the product do what it promises? Is the age restriction correct? Can you really crash two Lego vehicles together without them falling apart? Do I or the person receiving the gift really enjoy the product? And the most important question of all: Where does the red Hulk come from? I will answer these questions and perhaps others here in this product experience.

The day has come, the postman rings and a parcel from Galaxus arrives. I wonder what's inside? Children's eyes light up when they see the super-cool parcel with the dangerous Marvel motif. Wow! That's the first reaction from me and my sons. Marvel is all the rage and Lego knows how to capitalise on this. Now let's see if the action depicted on the packaging really comes to life during play.

Open the pack and, of course, get the Hulks out first for the boys. Dad gets to build while the boys compete to see who gets the red Hulk. With this Lego set, building isn't as much of a struggle as with the previous product ratings: the Claas tractor or the Imperial Shuttle from Star Wars. Good for me, because my sons are impatient and want the promised action!

What fun! The assembly takes about 1.5 hours as my 6-year-old son, with a little help, builds a car himself. So it's perfectly manageable for a 6-year-old, depending on his interest. The two Hulks alone are really cool and my sons have a lot of fun beating up the other Hulk. As the vehicles slowly take shape, the excitement and anticipation of the action grows. And it's coming, guaranteed!

Cars ready, Hulks and She-Hulks ready, let's go! We push the two vehicles and they collide head-on. Thanks to a small mechanism built into each vehicle, the Hulks are catapulted into the air on impact and really collide in the air - depending on the trajectory. WOW! My boys cheer: really cool! It creates a great atmosphere when it "chlöpft und tätscht". The Hulks endure these fights like a Hulk: without scratches and without tears. The same can be said of the cars. My concerns that the vehicles might lose parts or not be so smooth to steer have been dispelled. The cars withstand all impacts and none of them come loose on their own. When my 3-year-old son dropped a car from the table, I held my breath, but only a headlight came off the red trike, nothing else. The action continues: Red Hulk and Hulk fight and fight and everything holds up - in the usual Lego quality.

For background information, the Red Hulk is General Ross, who dislikes Banon (the Green Hulk as a human). Telling the whole story here would go beyond the scope of this article. Ironically, during the umpteenth attempt to take down the actual Hulk
became the Red Hulk himself with his own special abilities. The two Hulks don't like each other at all but, according to the accompanying comic, they become mates after their brawl.

Conclusion

The Lego set comes in the coolness that the target group (7-14) exactly likes. The look, mechanics, functionality and quality should really be emphasised here. Lego has once again created a great toy that deserves to be bought for 63 (at Galaxus). Here you get a set that is particularly suitable for siblings or good colleagues. I would not recommend the set for children younger than five, unless they have older siblings to help them play. Unlimited fun, as the Hulks don't have to rely on their cars, but can fight everywhere.

I hope you enjoyed reading this and were able to draw your own conclusions. I certainly enjoyed testing this set and sharing this experience with you. Many thanks and regards to Galaxus!
