"Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2" bundle: 2 classics in a new look

Both "Mario Galaxy" games will be available as an improved edition on the Switch from October. The double pack brings technical updates and additional content that present the classic gameplay in a modern form.
The bundle «Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2» combines two of Nintendo's most famous 3D platform games in one collection. If you're interested in classic platform games, you're getting two milestones in the «Mario» series, originally released on the Wii and now bundled together.

Both games were considered innovations for the genre when they were released and are still characterised by a clear structure and well thought-out level design. You can already pre-order the bundle, which will be available from 2 October 2025.
Two games, one concept
The core principle is the same: you control Mario through a variety of galaxies, each with its own gravity and game logic. Platforms orbit around planets, the controls require precise jumps and quick adaptation to new environments. Both parts utilise this concept consistently, but each incorporates its own accents.
«Super Mario Galaxy» establishes the idea and relies on a mixture of smaller planet levels and classic platform passages. «Super Mario Galaxy 2» develops this into a denser gaming experience with more variety, a tighter structure and additional elements such as Yoshi as a playable character.

Technical adaptations
The new edition utilises the possibilities of the current hardware. A free update is provided on the Switch 2 that allows both games to run in 4K in TV mode and in 1080p in handheld or tabletop mode. On the older Switch, it remains at 1080p.
The controls have been adapted so that they work without a motion controller. Performance remains stable, even in the more complex levels with many moving platforms and enemies.
New content
Nintendo is not stopping at technical improvements. In «Super Mario Galaxy», Rosalina's picture book receives an additional chapter. The second part also gets a new story in book form. A music gallery with 154 tracks makes it possible to play all compositions directly from the main menu.
There is also a help mode designed to help beginners: more life energy, automatic healing when stationary and a reset to safe ground if Mario crashes. This function can be switched on and off at any time.
