Sneakerness 2017 - The highlights of the Galaxus Sneaker Freaker

Sneakerness in Zurich is a must for every sneaker fan. From Yeezys to vintage models from the 80s, there was plenty to marvel at and buy at Sneakerness. This year's fair was once again very popular and was also well attended by our Galaxus employees. We show you the personal highlights of Davide, our sneaker PM, and the passionate sneaker collectors Jonas and Valerio.

"My absolute favourite sneaker was definitely the Asics Gel Lyte III x SlamJam "5th Dimension" from 2010. This shoe is also known in sneaker circles as the "Holy Grail". It was originally the reason why I got more involved with sneakers. However, this model wasn't for sale, which wasn't bad for my wallet."
"The best stand was the one from ArchivKollektiv. The guys had a huge selection of vintage sneakers that you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else in such good condition. From old New Balance to original Air Max 95s from 1995, everything was there."
"Probably the most expensive model on sale was the Nike Mag from 2011. The sneaker from the film Back to the Future was produced in a very limited edition and subsequently auctioned off. A real highlight for a whopping 7,000 francs."

"Personally, I'm a big Nike fan and this custom Air Max One immediately caught my eye. Behind this shoe is the "Super250" studio, which not only personalises sneakers, but also leather goods such as wallets and bags. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy this model because, as expected, it had already been commissioned by a customer."
"In addition to the endless amounts of shoes, you could also have your shoes cleaned and cared for by "crep protect". Of course, I didn't miss out on this. You can also find the products at Galaxus, by the way."

"For me, the absolute highlight was Gary Lockwood, who is known for his sneaker masks. Seeing his work live was impressive. Each of his masks is unique and an absolute eye-catcher. You even had the opportunity to win one of his masks at the event."
"The 2017 Air Jordan IV x Kaws released just a month ago. The rush for this model was huge. Kaws (Brian Donnelly) is a designer from the USA and had the opportunity to work on the Air Jordan IV. The retail price was CHF 449, but at Sneakerness it had already gained CHF 1000 in value after just one month and was available for CHF 1480. "
"The New Balance 1500 x Colette x La MJC is, in my opinion, one of the strongest and naturally eye-catching New Balance sneakers. This model, which was designed by Colette and La MJC, was only produced 96 times in 2006. A real rarity to see one in such good condition after eleven years. The good piece was therefore not for sale."
