Sign up for digitec Playground Vol. 4

On 5 June, the fourth edition of our digitec Playground event will take place. This year’s game is «Rocket League». Sign up now!
You all had the choice between 18 games. It was a close call – a head-to-head race between the two unequal opponents «Rocket League» and «Age of Empires 2». At the close of voting, the vehicular soccer video game came out on top.
Good news for all fans of the other games: we’re also organising so-called sessions for games that took places two to four, «Age of Empires 2», «Landwirtschafts-Simulator 19» and «Valorant». These mini tournaments are organised directly through our Discord channel. More on that at a later date.
The signup pages for digitec Playground are now open!
One cup, two tournaments
Just like last year, digitec Playground will consist of two tournaments. The pros among you can register as a complete team. The second tournament is all about having fun and only individual players can participate in it. Teams are then put together later on by a random generator.
You'll be playing in teams of three. The «pro tournament» starts off with two qualifying rounds in which four teams will qualify for a spot in the final. The two semifinals will be played best of five and the final will be played in a best of seven format. We’ve moved the date of the final from 29 May to 5 June because we didn’t want it to collide with another «Rocket League» tournament.
The «fun tournament» will only take place on the final day and consist of 64 teams of 3. Participants are drawn into random teams. If the demand is high, we’ll make more spots available. Each team plays at least three matches.
The qualifiers will take place exclusively online. As for the final, we haven’t decided yet whether it will be online or on-site.
Schedule and sign up
You’re only allowed to take part in one of the two tournaments. The team limit is 64 players, but can be increased if need be.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
