Pre-order now: "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" for the Switch 2
"Animal Crossing: New Horizons" will be available for the Nintendo Switch 2 from 15 January. Nintendo is thus releasing a technically adapted version of its most successful simulator for the new console generation.
The Switch 2 edition of «Animal Crossing: New Horizons» is identical to the old version in terms of game mechanics and content. Existing game saves can be transferred. You can pre-order the game now. It will be available from 15 January.

Technical customisation for the new console
Nintendo claims to be utilising the Switch 2's more powerful hardware for a more stable display: the game runs in a higher native resolution. Edges appear smoother, textures clearer. Images build up with less jerkiness. The frame rate remains constant.
The shorter loading times should also be clearly noticeable: changing locations, entering buildings and travelling to other islands are faster. According to the developers, the menus also respond more directly. Interruptions in gameplay are therefore shorter.
The controls also benefit. The Joy-Con 2 controllers allow mouse-like input. Furniture, paths and patterns can be placed more precisely. Corrections should also work better.
Multiplayer mode and history
In online multiplayer mode, up to twelve players can play together simultaneously over the internet. The Switch 2 edition also integrates the console's new system-wide communication function. Voice and text chat run directly via the Switch 2 system interface and are available during the game session. Joint building is less restricted.
«Animal Crossing: New Horizons» was originally released in 2020 for the first Nintendo Switch and is one of the console's best-selling games. In it, players build their own island, construct buildings, decorate areas and interact with animal inhabitants in a fixed daily rhythm.
