Verbatim is expanding its display portfolio with three particularly lightweight portable monitors. The Light series is aimed at users who need additional screen space when travelling but do not want to take heavy accessories with them.

If you work a lot while travelling, you know the problem: too little space on the laptop display. A second monitor can help - but many models are heavy or unwieldy. Verbatim wants to change this and is launching particularly compact portable monitors on the market with its new Light series. The devices are designed to make working on the go easier without adding a lot of extra weight.

Three models for different requirements

The series comprises three models: the «PMT-14 Touch Light» with a 14-inch touchscreen, the «PMT-15 Light» with 15.6 inches without touch function and the «Portable 15.6 FHD Touch Monitor Light», also with 15.6 inches and touch operation. All variants utilise an IPS panel with full HD resolution (1920 × 1080 pixels) and a viewing angle of 178 degrees.

Both touch models rely on a 10-point capacitive multi-touch system with glass-on-glass technology (G+G). The system is designed to enable fast and precise operation, for example when scrolling, drawing or presenting.

Lightweight construction, fast connection

With a depth of around 17 millimetres and a weight of between 682 and 973 grammes, the monitors are among the lightest in their class. The 15.6-inch monitor without touch weighs the least at 682 grammes, followed by the 14-inch touch model at 778 grammes. The 15.6-inch touch version weighs 973 grammes. The connection is either via USB-C - for image, power and touch function - or via mini-HDMI, depending on the device used.

A power adapter (5 V, 2 A) is included in the scope of delivery. A neoprene protective cover and three 1-metre cables are also included: USB-C to USB-C, USB-A to USB-C and mini-HDMI to HDMI. This means the monitor is ready for immediate use: whether with a laptop, tablet, smartphone or games console.

Clear display, simple features

The panels achieve a brightness of 220 to 250 nits, offer a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and cover 45 per cent of the NTSC colour space. The refresh rate is 60 Hz. All models support HDR, which slightly increases contrasts and makes colours appear more vivid. Stereo speakers and a 3.5 millimetre audio socket are also integrated.
