The new "Sabre v3 Pro PureVector Ultralight Ergo" from Corsair adjusts its sensitivity based on the direction of movement. The gaming mouse weighs 41 grams and achieves a polling rate of up to 8000 Hertz.

Together with Aimlabs, Corsair has developed «PureVector» technology. It takes into account that you move your mouse with different speeds and precision depending on the direction.

Five minutes of training for personal calibration

To set up «PureVector», you need the free training software Aimlabs. First, set the desired DPI level in the Corsair Web Hub. This value determines how sensitively the mouse sensor reacts to your movements.

In Aimlabs, you then specify which grip style you use to operate the mouse, for example, palm or claw grip. You also select your preferred aiming technique and the size of your mousepad. After that, you complete five one-minute training rounds. During these, you must hit targets on the screen as quickly as possible.

First, you specify which grip style you use to operate the mouse, for example, palm or claw grip. You also select your preferred aiming technique and the size of your mousepad. Then you complete five one-minute training rounds.

Aimlabs analyzes your movements and creates an individual sensitivity profile from them. It then saves the calibration directly to the mouse's firmware. This way, your settings are preserved even on other computers without needing Aimlabs to run in the background. You can recalibrate at any time.

Especially for quick target changes, «PureVector» is intended to offer an advantage. The adjusted sensitivity is meant to help you align the mouse cursor with an opponent faster. Corsair claims a time saving of up to 81 milliseconds or 33 percent. How significant the advantage actually is likely depends on your personal skill level and previous aiming movements.

Optical sensor and ergonomic housing

Corsair uses an optical «Marksman-X-Sensor» with a resolution of up to 42,000 DPI. The DPI value indicates how sensitively the sensor reacts to mouse movements. You can adjust the sensitivity in increments of one between 100 and 42,000 DPI.

There is no separate DPI button. To switch between sensitivity levels, hold down the right mouse button and the rear side button for three seconds. After «PureVector» calibration, the other DPI levels are deactivated.

The mouse supports a polling rate of up to 8000 Hertz. It can therefore transmit its position to the computer up to 8000 times per second. This shortens the time between two position reports. However, high polling rates also place a greater load on the processor. Whether you benefit from this depends, among other things, on the performance of your PC.

Corsair uses optical switches for the mouse buttons. These register inputs using light and are rated for 100 million clicks according to the manufacturer. Corsair specifies the average click latency at 0.25 milliseconds.

The asymmetrical housing is designed for right-handed users and measures 119 × 64.5 × 41 millimeters.

Up to 140 hours of battery life

The connection to the PC is wireless via an included 2.4 GHz USB receiver. Alternatively, you can connect the mouse using the 1.8-meter USB cable. This also charges the battery at the same time.

At a polling rate of 1000 Hertz, the battery is expected to last up to 140 hours. If you use the maximum 8000 Hertz, the stated battery life is reduced to 25 hours.

Via the browser-based Corsair Web Hub, you can assign the five programmable buttons, create macros, and change sensor settings. This only works in Chrome or Edge. Other browsers are not supported. Corsair does not offer desktop software.
