Now available: 27-inch OLED monitor MO27Q28G with 280 Hertz from Gigabyte

Are you looking for a 27-inch monitor that displays black really black and is still fast enough for gaming? The Gigabyte MO27Q28G aims to deliver just that: with OLED technology, 280 hertz and high HDR performance.
The MO27Q28G from Gigabyte is a 27-inch monitor with a fourth-generation WOLED panel and a resolution of 2560 × 1440 pixels. It uses primary RGB tandem OLED technology, which is designed to ensure higher brightness and more precise colour reproduction. As pixels can be completely switched off, the panel achieves deep blacks and high contrasts.
For HDR content, the screen fulfils the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 standard and supports HDR10 and HLG. The peak brightness is up to 1500 nits in small image areas and around 335 nits in full white. A multi-layer panel structure is also designed to extend the service life.

Picture frequency and colour space
The monitor achieves a refresh rate of 280 hertz with a response time of 0.03 milliseconds. Adaptive synchronisation is possible with FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible, which should reduce image tearing. Black Frame Insertion is also available to reduce motion blur.
The MO27Q28G covers 99.5 per cent of the DCI-P3 colour space and achieves around 84 per cent in the BT.2020 colour space. The panel employs 10-bit colour depth (8-bit + FRC) and thus displays HDR content in a more differentiated way.
Equipment and ergonomics
The equipment includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 and USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 18 watts of power delivery. The integrated USB hub offers two data ports with up to 5 Gbit/s. There is also a headphone connection and two 5-watt speakers.
The stand can be adjusted in height by 13 centimetres, tilted between -5 and +20 degrees, swivelled 20 degrees to the left and right and rotated into portrait format (90 degree pivot). Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture support the simultaneous operation of multiple sources. The KVM function allows multiple computers to be operated via one keyboard and mouse.
A three-year warranty also covers burn-in, according to the manufacturer. In addition, the «AI OLED Care» function is designed to extend the panel's service life through automatic adjustments. The typical energy consumption is specified by the manufacturer as 35 watts.
