Now available: 2 new roller trainers from Wahoo

Classic cassette or digital gear box: With the "Kickr Core 2", Wahoo is launching two models that differ in their design. Both are designed to provide indoor riders with precise performance and realistic riding dynamics.
Indoor training can be frustrating: devices that are too loud, complicated circuits, inaccurate data. A smart roller trainer is designed to avoid exactly that. Wahoo has now launched the «Kickr Core 2» and the«Kickr Core 2 Zwift Cog/Click» in our shop. Both promise realistic riding dynamics and reliable technology - with clearly different concepts.
Classic cassette or virtual shifting
The «Kickr Core 2» relies on the classic direct drive system. You remove the rear wheel and mount your bike directly on the trainer. The power is transmitted to a cassette, compatible with Shimano and SRAM cassettes from 8 to 12 gears. This allows you to transfer your usual mechanical shifting behaviour almost one-to-one into your living room.

In the «Kickr Core 2 Zwift Cog/Click», a special sprocket («Zwift Cog») replaces the cassette. Shifting is not done mechanically, but virtually via the handlebar controller («Zwift Click»). The Zwift software provides you with up to 24 simulated gears, independent of your bike's real drivetrain. This also eliminates the need to change the cassette when changing the wheel. Wheels with eight to twelve-speed drivetrains are compatible.
The two devices differ in terms of handling and flexibility. If you only use one bike and want to get the outdoor feeling as close as possible to your training, the «Kickr Core 2» with a classic cassette is the right choice. However, if you switch between different bikes more often or want to avoid the cassette assembly altogether, the «Zwift-Cog/Click» version with virtual shifting offers more convenience.
«Kickr Core 2»: the basic model from Wahoo
The Core 2 has a number of technical innovations compared to its predecessor. These include Wi-Fi, faster data transfer in race mode with ten Hertz, Bluetooth bridge for HR sensors, easier-to-read LEDs and more stable legs. The trainer achieves a maximum power output of 1800 watts, measures with an accuracy of plus minus two per cent and supports virtual inclines of up to 16 per cent. Firmware updates run automatically in the background.
«Kickr Core 2 Zwift Cog/Click»: the integrated Zwift upgrade
The Zwift package combines the Core 2 with two additional components. Zwift Cog replaces the cassette and chain with a single sprocket. According to the manufacturer, the trainer takes over the shifting electronically: precise, quiet and wear-free. Zwift Click is the controller on the handlebars. You use it to shift gears virtually, control your avatar, perform ride-ons or activate power-ups.
