Face melting? These beauty products combat the heat
by Natalie Hemengül
With the "Theraface Mask Glo", you can include light therapy for the skin in your skincare routine at home. The device promises visible improvements to the appearance of your skin with daily use.
With the new product from manufacturer Therabody, you can bring light therapy from beauty parlours into your home. At the heart of the mask are 504 LED lights that work in three different wavelength ranges: red light, a combination of red and infrared light and blue light.
A treatment automatically runs through all three modes for four minutes each. According to the manufacturer, the red and infrared light therapy is designed to stimulate collagen production and thus reduce wrinkles, while the blue light is said to help with mild to moderate acne.
The manufacturer refers to clinical studies. According to these studies, wrinkles and fine lines under the eyes are reduced and skin radiance is improved after eight weeks of regular use. Pigmentation spots are also said to lighten and improve skin texture.
The first signs of ageing often appear around the eyes and mouth in particular. The mask completely covers your face to treat these areas with light. With a weight of 514 grammes and dimensions of 200 × 220 × 120 millimetres, the mask is relatively compact
According to the manufacturer, the integrated rechargeable battery offers up to 120 minutes of operating time, which corresponds to around ten treatment sessions. You attach the mask to your head with adjustable straps. So there are no annoying cables. The mask also has a vibration function for a gentle scalp massage during light therapy. This is intended to provide additional relaxation.
In addition to the mask, the scope of delivery includes eye protection and a USB-C charging cable.
