May I introduce: The three best hairdryers tested!

"Kassensturz" and Saldo tested the ten best-selling hairdryers. The hairdryers were assessed according to the following criteria: Drying time, air temperature and operation. Find out more about the test and the results and see for yourself!
How it was tested:
Handling in the practical test:
Five test subjects with different hair characteristics (short, long, thick, thin) each tested a hairdryer under supervision on towel-dried hair on each half of their head. The observations were recorded using a questionnaire. This included an assessment of manoeuvrability, air direction control, noise emissions and weight.
Drying rate in the laboratory test:
It was measured how many grams of moisture a hairdryer evaporated during one minute under standardised conditions.
Air temperature in the laboratory test:
53 sensors measured the temperature under various conditions at the maximum temperature setting near the grille: without accessories, with a nozzle and with a diffuser. The average value of the 5 hottest points was decisive in each case.
Risk of fire in the laboratory test:
Test under extreme conditions.
Endurance test in the laboratory test:
The hair dryers were run at maximum temperature for 15 minutes in 250 cycles. They were tested for 12 hours per day and rested for 12 hours.
The results are impressive:
The overall scores achieved range from 4.1 and "sufficient" to 5.3 and an overall rating of "good". It is particularly pleasing that none of the ten hair dryers tested are dangerous: in the test criterion "fire hazard/risk of burns", all achieved a rating of "very good". The testers also did not observe a single failure or any visible changes to the ten hair dryers tested during endurance testing.
1st place with an overall score of 5.3
This Solis hairdryer, manufactured in Switzerland, even achieved the best possible score of 6 in the "drying rate" criterion.

2nd place with an overall score of 5.2
This inexpensive model stands out particularly in the criteria "weight" and "drying rate".
3rd place with an overall score of 5.2
The Philips HP8233/08 achieved the best score in the "air temperature" criterion with 5.5, meaning this hairdryer is gentle on the hair and avoids excessively high temperatures.
