LEGO, you're 15 years too late

No sooner has LEGO presented its "Stranger Things" game box than it's already adding that of a TV series, but not a new one, one that ended 15 years ago. Friends!
But what was LEGO thinking? There are so many great series out there, why choose Friends? Even back then, I didn't understand all the hype surrounding the American sitcom. Even less so today. So I can proudly say that I've never seen a single episode. But back to the question! Why on earth is LEGO marketing a LEGO game box 15 years after the end of Friends?
The reason can be found in the LEGO community. On the brick brand's website, fans can share their ideas with like-minded people. This is the case of a Frenchman with his Central Perk, the famous café from Friends, a set that was such a hit with other users that LEGO decided to put the idea into practice. Well, now you've got it!

I have nothing to say about the set itself. In fact, I think it's quite good. It consists of just over a thousand pieces and includes the seven figurines featuring the main actors. The café houses a lounge area with sofa, armchair, two chairs and a table, as well as a counter with coffee machine, cash register, biscuit tin and menu board. To the right is a sort of stage for musical performances, with a red sofa, additional seating and umbrella stands with two umbrellas. The Central Perk logo is also visible in the window. The icing on the cake? Two spotlights on either side of the LEGO set.
For less than 100 francs, you get what you pay for. That's a phrase I can rarely use. Pre-orders for this box are open. The official launch will be on 1 September 2019.
