The new hairdryer from Laifen employees a high airflow, five temperature modes and a nozzle for care oils.

Good hair doesn't just start after blow-drying. Long, thick or curly hair in particular is sensitive to too much heat. The ends can become brittle and the roots can dry out. The Neo Special from Laifen therefore relies on a strong airflow instead of high temperatures alone. The temperature can be adjusted in several stages. The hairdryer can also add care oil to the airflow via its own nozzle.

The appliance is therefore not a simple hairdryer for occasional blow-drying. It is particularly interesting if you blow-dry regularly, want to save time and still need control over the temperature and airflow.

Lots of air instead of just lots of heat

The Laifen Neo Special employs a brushless motor with 110,000 revolutions per minute. According to the manufacturer, the air flow reaches up to 22 metres per second. This should dry the hair faster without the hairdryer only working at high temperatures. Laifen gives a drying time of three minutes as a guide. This figure depends heavily on hair length, hair density and residual moisture.

The power is 1600 watts. The hairdryer offers two fan settings and five temperature modes: hot, warm, cold, care mode and temperature change. A five-colour LED ring indicates the selected temperature level. My colleague Anika is already using the Laifen hairdryer herself and confirms the strong airflow in particular: her hair dries much faster with it than with her previous appliance.

Temperature control against heat build-up

Heat damage is not only caused by high maximum temperatures. It also occurs if you blow-dry in one place for too long or do not maintain the correct distance from the hair. Automatic control can reduce this risk.

That's why Laifen has installed a temperature control that measures and adjusts the air temperature 100 times per second. There is also a care mode with a constant 58 degrees Celsius. This mode is intended for more sensitive hair and for use with oil diffusion.

The special is in the oil diffusion

The difference to the normal Laifen Neo lies in the care function. The Neo Special can dispense care oils as a fine mist via a special nozzle. According to the manufacturer, the scope of delivery includes a smoothing nozzle, a care nozzle and three care capsules in addition to the hairdryer.

Lightweight housing, powerful technology

According to the manufacturer, the Neo Special weighs 390 grammes. That's not much for a hairdryer in this performance class. The weight is particularly important for longer hair. You hold the appliance above shoulder height for several minutes. A lightweight hairdryer takes the strain off your wrist, arm and shoulder.

Laifen also states an operating volume of 59 decibels. The hairdryer also has a magnetically removable filter. This makes the filter easier to clean.
