Favourite of the week: Ray-Ban sunglasses

Every day I take a tour of our fashion assortment. To give you a small but refined overview, I present you with a product I particularly like each week. Today: sunglasses.
The Wayfarer model, together with the Aviator model, is one of the best-selling models of the Ray-Ban brand. Hardly any other pair of glasses has the same degree of popularity in the world. That is why it has already been copied several times by other manufacturers.
.
These glasses were designed by Raymond Stegemann in 1952. At the time, the wide, trapezoid-shaped frame was considered an absolute revolution. Using hard plastic instead of the classic metal frame was seen as a novelty. Women, too, began to appreciate the men's model, as the frame suited different face shapes. If even a sex symbol like Marilyn Monroe wore them, it must mean something. Through appearances in series and films such as 'Miami Vice' and 'The Blues Brothers', the glasses have earned cult status.
Always fashionable

I have been a Wayfarer fan for years and I am particularly happy to hear that the new models are now available in our assortment. Unlike the original, the Wayfarer II Classic has a rounded silhouette. The acetate frame and temples are rather narrow. The insurmountable design, the green glasses and the two silver details on the sides are reminiscent of the predecessor. Personally, I like both models, but if I had to decide, I would choose the older version. What do you think? [[competition:289]] [[image:22055436]]
