digitec plays "Shadow of the Tomb Raider"

It's time again to plunder tombs and introduce nameless villains to the ice pick. No, we're not playing the crossover between "Indiana Jones" and "Basic Instinct", but the third part of the "Tomb Raider" reboot. Our livestream starts at 4 pm.
The reboot trilogy comes to an end with "Shadow of the Tomb Raider". This time, Lara finally becomes the Tomb Raider, as Square Enix likes to emphasise. Wasn't she already that the first time round? Well, what the heck. Once again you get to travel with young Lara to exotic locations, explore forgotten temples and solve all kinds of original and sometimes tricky puzzles. In between, you collect all kinds of resources to craft arrows and improve your equipment - also for the third time. What did the lady do with my perfectly equipped compound bow from the last part? It was still perfectly fine.
But there's less fighting than before anyway, so Lara can now hide even better and kill enemies from ambush. Sometimes from the bushes, sometimes covered in mud - Rambo style. Nothing has changed in the very explicit presentation. Not even when Lara falls headfirst into a spear trap.

The story once again revolves around rare artefacts, the rogue organisation Trinity and the impending apocalypse, which for a change is Lara's fault. For the first time, the game also touches on the dubious day-to-day work of the tomb raider. Just like with Indiana Jones, no one ever questions why the so-called archaeologists expropriate foreign cultural assets during their adventures and usually leave historical sanctuaries in ruins. In Lara's case, this time it doesn't stop at material damage either.
Simon and I get into our tight, green hot pants and set off on our adventure. You can see how it turned out in the video above.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
