Curaprox nuggies: now available again
The Curaprox soother was developed together with an orthodontist and is designed to actively support your baby's natural oral development. Following a recall last year, the product is back in our range with improved quality assurance measures.
Few baby products divide parents as reliably as the dummy. Some reject it on principle: out of private pension provision or because they fear weaning later on. Others see it as a welcome aid that gives both baby and parents quieter nights.
Curaprox describes the pacifier as «biofunctional»
The soother from Curaprox was developed in collaboration with orthodontist Dr Herbert Pick. The centrepiece is the flat, flexible suction tip: according to the manufacturer, it is designed to enable natural tongue movements, distribute pressure evenly and promote balanced muscle activity.
Unlike conventional soothers, which remain in the mouth even without active sucking, the Curaprox dummy requires active sucking. As soon as the need to suck is satisfied, it automatically falls out of the mouth. The short, soft suction part is designed to support the natural tongue position similar to breastfeeding - and, according to the manufacturer, also reduce the risk of so-called sucking confusion.
Which size is the right one?
The right size depends less on the baby's age and more on the development of their jaw. The soother should fit comfortably in the mouth without stretching or straining the palate. Size 0 is suitable from birth and can be used for as long as it is needed.
Before each use, you should clean the pacifier and replace it at the first sign of damage. Important: Only use lightweight straps or strings as dummy holders. Attachments that are too heavy pull the dummy forwards and can encourage misaligned teeth.
Improved quality assurance
The Curaprox soother complies with the international standard EN 1400 and, according to the manufacturer, undergoes strict quality controls along the entire supply chain. Nevertheless, Curaprox had to carry out a recall last year: A supplier had supplied materials that did not comply with specified BPA limits. To be fair, it should also be mentioned that only the shield was affected - not the part that is constantly in the baby's mouth.
The problems have been rectified and the manufacturer has since taken additional quality assurance measures. That's why you can now find the Nuggis in our shop again.
