Cats and explosions! What more could you want?

A card game with a difference: the aim of "Exploding Kittens" is to fend off exploding cats with laser beams and be the last player alive.
"Exploding Kittens" was launched in 2015 as a Kickstarter project and quickly became one of the most successful crowdfunding campaigns in history. The hoped-for 10,000 US dollars were received after just eight minutes. In total, over 8.7 million US dollars were donated to author Elan Lee and his team.

This card game is suitable for players aged seven and over. It can be played with up to five friends or enemies at the same time. In addition to the instructions for winning, 56 playing cards are included. A round of "Exploding Kittens" takes about 15 minutes.

How is "Exploding Kittens" played?
At the beginning, everyone receives eight cards. The remaining cards are placed in a pile in the centre of the table. When it's your turn, you have two different options. You can either pass and pick up a card from the pile. Then it's the next player's turn. Or you can discard one or more cards from your hand. You can discard as many cards as you like. However, before it is the next player's turn, you must draw a new card from the pile.

If you play an Exploding Kitten card, you explode, die and are eliminated. Unless you have a Defuse card in your hand. This deflects the explosion and you can continue to take part in the game. The aim is to be the last player left alive. You can see what such a game round can look like in the following video.
Non-adult edition
Since the Kickstarter campaign was such a success, the publisher of "Exploding Kittens" brought a NSFW edition onto the market. The game principle is the same as the original. However, additional cards are included that are too cruel or sexist for the PG version.
