Can you really snuggle up with this thing?

Snuggle means to cuddle. And baby should also be able to cuddle with the new product from Philips AVENT called "Snuggle". How does the product perform in practice?

Where is the pacifier? A question I ask myself dozens of times a day. As soon as it's in my mouth, it disappears into nirvana the next minute. Philips AVENT has a solution to this problem: the "Snuggle". A cuddly toy as a dummy chain.

It looks like the monkey has the pacifier ring in its mouth, as the Velcro fastener is attached underneath.

Handy cuddly toy with cuddling potential

Philips AVENT advertises the new product with the words "Soothing and easy to cuddle and hold". I have touched it and the cuddling potential is definitely there. The Snuggle looks like a normal soft toy, is pleasantly soft and slightly weighted. This makes it easier for babies to hold in their hands. The animal's arms and legs are also easy to grip.

Stuffed animal with added benefits

The Snuggle is not just a soft toy. A holder for the dummy has been attached to it. This means the dummy won't get lost so quickly.

An "ultra soft soother" in the colour turquoise is also supplied by Philipps AVENT. This can be easily removed thanks to a Velcro fastener. Cleaning the soft toy is just as easy. Simply pop it in the washing machine and the fluffy friend is clean. The "Snuggle" is compatible with all Philips AVENT soothers. You can also use other brands as long as the soother has a ring.

The chained culprit

The dummy has a soft and flexible teat shield that moulds to the shape of the baby's cheek. This means more comfort and fewer skin marks. The teat shield also has six air holes. More air on the skin means less skin irritation. The symmetrical shape adapts to the baby's palate, gums and teeth as it grows. In short: the ultra-soft pacifier is orthodontic, ideal for baby's delicate skin, can be used from birth and is BPA-free.

Four designs

There are currently four "Snuggles" from Philips AVENT on the market: [[productlist:10972941,10972938,10972939,10972945]]

My impression

The Snuggle wants to be two things at once: A cute cuddly toy and a dummy holder. It does both well, but I find a simple pacifier chain much more practical than this combination. The soft toy hangs annoyingly from the dummy. Or a dummy hangs annoyingly from the soft toy. This makes the product impractical for the baby. Fortunately, you can remove the dummy. So at least it serves as a small, handy cuddly toy.

In addition to the four animal designs mentioned above, there are already a number of brands that have been wipes, necklaces or ribbons as accessories for the pacifier. So for me, the "Snuggles" are not a glorious innovation that everyone has been waiting for.

In addition to the monkey, there are three other animal motifs.
