The latest instalment in this historical murder saga will be published around autumn. And «Assassin’s Creed Valhalla» is sending you to join the Vikings in the frigid North.

The first official teaser was a disappointment. On a Wednesday live stream, an artist thrillingly announced the setting for the newest «Assassin’s Creed» game with an image. The thing is, previous leaks had already let slip that we were heading northwards. However, the subtitle «Ragnarok» hasn't come to fruition. A true trailer for «Assassin’s Creed Valhalla» was only shown a day later.

There isn't gameplay in this one either, but the cinematic trailer gives a good impression of what to expect this autumn. After an excursion to ancient Greece featuring performances by philosopher Socrates as well as legendary figures such as the Minotaur and Medusa, the next leg of our journey will be a bit frostier. It's the Viking Age – somewhere around 845 CE. You'll be battling the English, while also hopefully meeting the occasional mythical creature. Something Nordic mythology isn't lacking. You take on the role of Eivor – male or female – and sail across the sea to England with a clan that was driven out of Norway.

«Assassin’s Creed Valhalla» will be released towards the end of the year for PC, PS4, Xbox One as well as the new consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
