It's great if you've been given a mane like this by nature. But you can also do it yourself. All you need is a curling iron with a small diameter that is ideally tapered, i.e. slightly pointed on one side, so that the curls are finer at the roots. The individual strands of hair should also be separated as narrowly as possible. Don't brush out after styling, just pluck them into shape.

Soft waves

Creating soft curls in your hair is very easy. You will need a curling iron with a large diameter. The separated strands can be longer, so you can quickly work your way through the whole hair. The longer you leave the individual strands wrapped around the iron, the more bounce you give the curls - the less you give them, the softer the end result will be. Once you've finished your employees with the wand, simply leave the strands to cool and run your hand or brush through them.

Water waves

Inspired by the 20s: Water waves can be 'stamped' into the hair using a waving iron. As you can see in the video, you work your way from the roots to the ends of your hair and use the tool to start again where you left off. The cool thing is that you can leave the curls exactly as you made them and achieve the flowing look of the water wave, or you can then run your fingers through your hair again and loosen the wave, creating lots of little waves.

By the way: Anyone using hot irons should definitely use heat protection. Before that, products for defining curls can support the styling. Once your curls are in place, don't forget to set them with hairspray. This way, your lion's mane will last longer.
