We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Data Platform Teamlead. Our team consists of qualified professionals with a great attitude, and we are seeking an individual who brings the same level of passion and drive to their work. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and at least 5 years of experience as Data Engineer or Data Platform Engineer alongside excellent leadership skills.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead a team of data devops professionals focused on developing our data platform
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to promote professional and individual growth and development
  • Together with the product owner and the team, you focus on ensuring the greatest possible benefit for our customers and our employees
  • Design, develop, and operate scalable data platform solutions that support our growing data needs.
  • Optimize and tune data platform for performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to understand data requirements and ensure data accessibility and quality
  • Implement data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive information

Your skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, data focused area or a related field
  • Proficiency in Python and experience leading teams
  • DevOps skills, including experience with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, configuration management, and deployment tools (e.g., Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
  • Experience in designing and building large-scale data platforms and infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Airflow), and cloud technologies (ideally GCP)
  • Familiarity with data warehouse solutions (preferably BigQuery) and ETL/ELT processes & tools
  • Knowledge of stream processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Flink) is a plus
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance practices is a plus
  • Demonstrating the courage to take risks and act on convictions under uncertainty
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance productivity and effectiveness
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in English and German
