Lee was founded as early as 1889 as a vegetable wholesaler by Henry David Lee.
Dissatisfied with the quality available on the market, Lee decided to produce work clothes himself in 1912. Just a year later, he invented the jumpsuit and started production across the country. In the 1920s, Lee invented the zippered jeans, as well as the jumpsuit with a zip closure.
