Lacoste, the iconic brand with the crocodile, was founded in 1933 by tennis player René Lacoste. At the time, the company revolutionised the dress code of the tennis world: long-sleeved shirts were replaced by short-sleeved shirts. These shirts, better known as polo shirts, quickly gained cult status and helped the company to worldwide fame. Over the years, Lacoste has remained true to its sporty classic style. However, their product range has expanded. Today the company offers high-quality clothes, underwear, shoes, leather goods and glasses.
