When aircraft engineer Howard Head stood on skis for the first time in 1947, he realized after the enjoyable descents that the heavy equipment was limiting his pleasure. For three years he experimented with different materials and finally reinvented the ski, revolutionizing winter sports. Then as now, Head's sports equipment and apparel are constantly being rethought, optimized and perfected.

Today, Head is made up of five divisions: winter sports, racket sports, diving, sportswear and licensing. Head's best-known products include: Alpine skis, ski bindings, ski boots, snowboard and protective equipment, tennis, racquetball, table tennis and squash rackets, tennis balls and shoes, sportswear and swimming equipment.
