Göran Fredrik Göransson founded Högbo Stål und Jernwerks AB in Sweden in 1862 to produce high-quality steel and further developed the Bessemer process, which was the basis for the production of the first saw blade. Initially, Göran used the high-quality steel to produce fishing hooks. Later on he also used it for the production of the first saw blades. To communicate the high quality, Göran used the logo with the fish and hook. Johan Petter Johansson patented the first adjustable wrench - this formed the basis for the first adjustable spanner - a Swedish invention that is known worldwide. Berndt August Hjorth takes over Enköpings Mekaniska Verkstad from Johan Petter Johansson and from now on calls the company Bahco. The introduction of the Sandflex® bimetal saw blade heralds a new era in metal cutting. Bahco presents the world's first ergonomic screwdriver. Bahco ERGOTM tools receive numerous international awards. Bahco Ergo Tool Management Systems (BETMS) is presented for the first time at the Equip'Auto show in Paris and is awarded the silver medal for innovation.
