Target audience: adolescent learners in Germany and abroad with no prior knowledge of German. Learning objective: The course leads to the level of the German Certificate in three volumes. Pingpong neu addresses the requirements that modern language teaching places on a textbook for young people. Through youth-oriented topics and situations, authentic everyday language is conveyed. The dialogues and situations are designed so that learners can communicate with each other from the very first lesson. Active learning keeps the interest in the new language and its environment alive. Group work, games, and songs provide variety and stimulate different learning impulses. The learning material is presented in short, manageable units that are self-contained. At the end of each unit, there is an entertaining reading text with exercises for reading comprehension, followed by a summary of the content covered.
